GREEN TOMATOES

Much as I like fried green tomatoes, a winter without green tomato chutney would be hard to take. This year, as my second planting of tomatoes struggled to make it through the hot summer, I thought there would be little chance of my picking tomatoes in the fall. I managed to pick 4 lbs last week and they went straight into the pot. Here's the recipe from last year's post.

  1. Those are beautiful! I didn't even try to do fall tomatoes, but you've inspired me to try next fall. Your chutney recipe sounds delicious.

  2. Wow! Those look wonderful. Thanks for the recipe and now all I need is a garden to grow those great tomatoes. :) Do you know about how much sun they receive in your garden? I'm not quite sure where the best place is in my yard.

  3. your green tomatoes are great. Our tomatoes did poorly this year. Most didn't reach any size due to the late blight disease and over abundance of rain. Always hope for next year.

  5. Amy-You need a spot with at least 6 hours of sun. I once had a garden down the side of the house where it got just that and we had the best tomatoes ever.
