BOGGED DOWN WITH BLOGS

Honestly! where to begin. I am barely through half of the garden visits I made in England this summer. I did manage to finish all my visits to the Seattle Fling, but since then there are a hundred more things I could be posting about and a hundred visits before that.

I did, however, think this rose was worthy of a blog all of its own. I saw it in the Portland Rose Garden at the weekend. I am not sure this would be my choice of rose but it certainly was a show stopper. The name, All American Magic. This is a rose that fades with grace from red and yellow, to pink and cream then white with splashes of pink. Rather reminiscent of a rose seen around my home town, mutabilis.
The other posts will have to wait; the Denver Botanical Garden, the Steamboat Springs Botanical garden, the visit to my cousin's farm Co-op on Vancouver Island and the unusual rock pool garden at Haystack Beach, Oregon. I am thinking I may have plenty of time to blog about these visits in the coming weeks on my return home!

  3. Sounds like you are making the Botanical rounds out there. I know you are seeing a lot more green and a lot less brown than back here in Texas.

OK, I redid the drought map just for you. You can come visit the Longhorn Version as time permits. Hope the weather service has a sense of humor.

  4. I hear you! I am still slogging away through my Fling posts, and then I'll hit on my vacation up to Vancouver.

I especially look forward to your post about Denver Botanic Garden.

  5. I too look forward to a post about Denver BG. I have visited there three times over the last 30 years. My last visit, I swear I took 300 photos, and put them on a zip drive(remember those?). Long story short; new technology doesn't allow me to open these drives. argh.

  6. You are getting to see a lot of gardens this summer. I'd have to take notes, to remember where I saw this flower or that plant.
Thanks again for taking us with you.

  8. I have the same problem (though not quite such a huge backlog). I was doing quite nicely with my Seattle posts and then had to go back to work, which rather cramped my style.
However, I'm enjoying your posts as and when you have time to write them.
That is a really extraordinary rose. It's so extraordinary, it's really rather magnificent.

  9. I rode past the Portland Rose Garden on a train...in April...never made it back there. As the kids say, You Go Girl!

  10. You could always pull out those potential posts this winter when pickings are slim. I have only done that once and it felt odd.

  11. Les- I have a feeling that I will be spending more time in the garden this winter, if we have one. I will be redesigning my drip system and pulling out and replacing plants. I will only find out about what has happened there this weekend.
