The plan was they would grow together on a trellis against a south facing stone wall. As it turned out, Zephirine was very aggressive, choking out the passionflower and reaching out to invade the adjacent dining table and chairs. Last year I was going to pull the rose out but my husband refused to do Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02653038382376990440noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3636445408720805216.post-18113622220207624982019-04-19T06:32:09.284-07:002019-04-19T06:32:09.284-07:00I discovered the Clems here are better off scrambl...I discovered the Clems here are better off scrambling through another plant rather than on a trellis on a stucco wall because there is less reflected heat that way. Even in April the reflected heat is nasty. Yours are early, earlier than mine. Beautiful photos. Unfortunately we moved before we could see the outcome. We have a clematis waiting to be planted in this garden. Cant' wait to see what it does.Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18184551540374933832noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3636445408720805216.post-37101127997456411482019-04-17T14:27:00.055-07:002019-04-17T14:27:00.055-07:00I've finally had a chance to look at your blog...I've finally had a chance to look at your blog and the wonderful pictures of what's growing in the garden. We had lots of weeds growing in our garden when we got home. So I've been busy pulling them and hope to get a few flowers in before it gets too hot. Keep the pictures coming--it gives me inspiration for my garden. I guess that is why the small flowered varieties do so well on other bushes. It is now looking better so I may give another year. I probably haven't fed it enough. Not a massive flowering but certainly neater.Rock rose https://www.blogger.com/profile/00348711150803587369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3636445408720805216.post-13022126262018747552019-04-17T04:38:11.954-07:002019-04-17T04:38:11.954-07:00Wow, these are lovely! I've never succeeded in training it to neatly climb it's trellis and, this year, the stems are already heading off in different directions as it tries to find purchase. Last year, I directed a portion of the stems upward, tying them to supports Kris Petersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07097260283693156795noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3636445408720805216.post-67395844901979642182019-04-16T15:51:19.739-07:002019-04-16T15:51:19.739-07:00I like the idea of planting so it can climb Zephir...I like the idea of planting so it can climb Zephirine drouihin!
