GARDEN BLOGGERS' BLOOM DAY JULY 2011

I hate to miss bloom day in my own garden, although with the 100+ degree days Austin has experienced this spring and summer, I wonder what might be blooming right now. I am far away in a cool, cool place. The early morning temperature today was 40degrees. Bliss.
This morning we hiked up to Baker lake, which is in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho. How could I resist a photo of the arrowleaf balsam flowers, Balsamorhiza sagittata to celebrate bloom day. The late snow melt was perfect timing for this year's visit to our favorite place to camp. The wildflowers are spectacular.

Thanks Carol, at Maydreams, for giving me the opportunity to share some of nature's beauty on this bloom day.
