AUSTIN NURSERIES GIVEAWAY: SHOAL CREEK NURSERY

Each Wednesday, throughout the month of October, and as part of Support Your Independent Nursery Month, Austin garden bloggers are featuring local nurseries, with an aim to encouraging gardeners to shop local. I am sure we would all be very sad to lose any one of our independent nurseries and with the current, tough economic times this is a reality that we might face....unless we do our part. We are asking you to spend your dollars at any one of our fine local nurseries. At the same time offering an opportunity to win a gift certificate from eight of our local nurseries.

It has been a long, dry summer and our gardens have suffered. Maybe now is the time to re-think our plantings. All our independent nurseries sell a great selection of drought tolerant plants. They can help you make selections that would be suitable for you garden. You can also find great ideas for your garden by reading any one of the 60 or more garden blogs written by Austin Garden Bloggers.

                                                                     Shoal Creek Nursery

Maybe you have a family birthday in the future or are thinking about Holiday gifts. What about a hummingbird feeder for your children or a birdbath to welcome feathered friends into the garden. You will find any number of great gift ideas at your local nursery.

Disappearing fountains make great bird baths.

With our eyes tuned constantly to the weather how about a weather station. Lots of great products as well as great plant selections.
