EARLY MORNING IN THE GARDEN

There is no better time. The sun is just peaking over the tree tops ready to flood the garden.

The plants are refreshed from the cool of the night.

Can it really be that this will all go away by 2pm when the temperature soars into the 90s. Yes, but it will be back again for a few hours the next day.

  2. Early morning is the best time to enjoy the garden on hot days. There's just something so refreshing and spirit-lifting watching the morning light caress the garden. Your early morning photos are simply lovely.

  7. Your garden looks so beautiful! I really like the rock material you chose for your mulch - what is that? Looks a little bit bigger than crushed granite and has a lot more color differentiation - pretty! I have a lot of crushed granite in the front garden, and I want to do something different in the back. Mostly because I find the crushed granite comes with you a little too much into the house and we are in the backyard more so hoping to choose something that will stay put a little more in btwn the cracks of a flagstone patio/seating area I have planned...or paths. Any thoughts? If you had it to do over, would you use this same substrate? Thank you in advance! :)

    1. It is pea gravel. I have crushed granite in other places but they are further from the house so don't come in on shoes.

  9. The magic of morning light! Love the contrast with the shade in the garden. And all your plants are looking so happy that it's hard to believe they've ever been touched by the hot afternoon sun.

  11. There is that cute clematis! Your garden radiates in the early light. It's so nice to have a better perspective of your garden after seeing it in person. Thanks again for a lovely morning.
