Three days of frost and all the tender plants came inside. The lemons are all in the potting-shed but this little calamondin, with its pretty orange fruits is small enough and attractive enough to come inside the house.
Am I the only one with agaves inside the house, I wonder! I have 3, from my front garden, potted A. desmettiana inside the house. I think they make a very attractive house plant.
Then there are all the small cactus and succulents which normally spend the summer on the hearth of the outdoor fireplace. Now they are in a sunny window.
The greenhouse is full to bursting. Plenty of A. desmettiana in there too. These are the big ones but when I took 2 out of the ground I removed at least 8 pups. They are also potted up ready for next year.
All the lemon trees are in the potting shed and there is a large agave in the garage.They are inside for the rest of the winter.
Things aren't much different from years ago, before I had a greenhouse, and would grow my pots of seedlings on a big door in the kitchen. I should have built a bigger greenhouse.

I can definitely say you are not the only one with agaves in the house.
I love your plants! In the Algarve, we're lucky in that agaves and citrus plants can all stay outside. Only when the frost is very strong do some plants succumb.
I can't wait until my Desmettiana is a big as yours (its parent). What a pretty plant.
I think it's nice having the citrus in the house- that way it's easier to access and eat!!!! I always forget about our oranges in the back. If it were sitting in the kitchen or house I prob would gobble them all up!!!!
I've definitely been known to have an agave in the house a time or two. Right now everything is squeezing into the greenhouse, but I like to have some of my favorites inside to brighten up the house.
I wish I could bring my plants indoors, but one of my cats would eat them. I have to make sure to keep my forced bulbs up high on counters! One of these days I shall have a greenhouse, though! Your calamondin is so pretty!
I doubt there's a greenhouse in existence that seems just the right size to its owner. I don't have a single...indoor...plant. I need to change that!
My tender agaves only come inside when a freeze is expected. Since my garden is warmer than yours, they stay out most of the winter. But you're right, they do make stunning houseplants.
