A BREAK FROM GARDENING

I'm taking a few weeks off hoping that the rest will be good for my back. It isn't unusual for me to leave the garden for long periods of time. Of course it will mean more work when I get home. Maybe the foxes will move in once again as they did several years ago. All the wildlife will be happy for my absence. Here is just a sampling of some of the things we have seen.

  1. When a garden can tolerate the absence of its gardener without falling completely apart it is a sign of careful planning and excellent care taking along the way. Foxes or no, your garden is a real showcase and like the rest of us, will be awaiting your return. Rest up as you so richly deserve to do, and allow tincture of time to help heal your poor overtaxed back.

(I suppose it is a sign of being a gardener "of a certain age" but I consider OTC anti-inflammtories to be one of my most reached-for gardening tools!)

  2. Your garden is (and always has been) a showcase. Here's where your good planning and thoughtful caretaking will really pay off. Foxes or no - your garden spaces and we your readers will be awaiting your return. Rest up as you so richly reserve and let that poor overtaxed back heal while you do a little eye gardening for a change.

I suppose it is a sign of being a "gardener of a certain age" but I consider otc anti-inflammatories to be one of my most reached-for gardening tools! Enjoy the break, Ms. Rock Rose.

  3. Yes, heal - wish I was closer and with some time, and I would help you out a little in exchange for some coffee on that great patio after. Keep posting, though - I like the collage. Makes me want to post soon...

    Have a good time.

Do I see some Mesa Verde National Park there?

  7. You're in New Mexico? Lucky you! If your trip includes Santa Fe, have an Agave Way Margarita at Secreto Bar at Hotel St. Francis. Green chile gives it zing.

Hope the time away is healing.
