The rain last night was like a tonic for my garden. Plants seem to have shot up over night and many native flowers are blooming. Here's a sample of the native plants that are flowering in my garden today.
Oh, gaura! I never seem to be able to keep those going here. They are especially lovely I think - just as pretty as any butterfly the way they dance in the breeze on those long stems.
That rain was delightful and I was so relieved (along with everybody no doubt) that it was only rain, not too windy, and no hail! How are your bluebonnet plants Ms. Jenny? Will you get plenty of seed after all?
Isn't it strange how one gardener can grow a plant and another fails miserably. It does seem to like a lot of sun. I could not grow it in another part of the garden where there was more shade. Yes, no hail this time. Hope we are out of the woods with regard to that event. A friend from Houston has just sent me seeds. I have evening work to do!
Beautiful, this so wonderful to see all the flowers returning to your garden. Like a tonic for renewal.
ReplyDeleteAll was not lost after all. Such a relief.
DeleteI love that chocolate daisy (Berlandiera lyrata), which I should be able to grow here but never see.
ReplyDeletehard to find even here and I have only ever had it seed on one occasion.
DeleteLovely variety! It must be spectacular. Is that Gaura in the upper right? Very beautiful blossum!
ReplyDeleteYes Sue, it's gaura.
