We may not have a white Christmas in Texas but the snowy scene here is part of our traditional English Christmas celebration. On Christmas day we will cut into our Christmas cake. Baked from a recipe in
Mrs Beeton's Cookery book, and covered with marzipan and royal icing. The British never make jokes about fruit cake. We love every crumb!
Merry Christmas, gardening friends.
Merry Christmas!!!

Your post makes me homesick! I haven't had a Christmas cake in years. Yours is a beauty! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI hope your Christmas and your cake were delightful Jenny! Looking forward to reading more of your blog in 2011.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas. And, have a great New Year, as well.

ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas! Cake looks lovely - hope you've saved me a slice!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Hope you guys have a wonderful holiday season and see you in 2011.
ReplyDeleteHave been catching up on your posts. The cake is delightful looking. I have a number of fruit cake cookbooks and recipes but have given up trying to convince others to try it! Instead I make a rich, dense triple gingerbread for Christmas which is a nice substitute.
