DOWN ON YOUR KNEES PHOTO ENTRY. LITTLE SIPPERS

My first entry. Thanks, Gardening Gone Wild for hosting the competition.
There were so many of these little butterflies sipping minerals from the mud that it was an easy photo to take. Baker Lake,Sawtooth Mountains, Idaho.

It's always a treat to find a group of butterflies 'puddling.'

I hope you have a winner.

Thanks Nell Jean and Lisa for telling me that this behavior is called "puddling" I wish I had called the post mud puddling! If I don't learn something new every day i am disappointed. And thanks to everyone who visited. My granddaughter was just delighted with watching their behavior.

Hiya,
Makes one wonder what they get from that mud: minerals?
Jenny, do me a favour and try and follow the link on GGW to my entry.
They say it doesn't work, but when I test it, it does. A bit bewildered as to how to improve on the link.
Thanks.

Hi RR.
What a blanket!
I once saw a mass of monarchs on a trip to Mexico feeding on something, or drinking on moisture, it was really amazing.
Cool shot RR, and good luck in the competition.

Awww, how neat! Your link at GGW works fine for me. They have told more than one person that their link is broken, which leads me to believe the problem might be on their end...?

I just love those littke blue Skippers, and they look like they're having a party. I've read that they like a little muddy puddle, but my garden soil never cooperates.
