Yesterday I picked the first pomegranate of the year. They always look ready at this time but are best left until late September when the flesh turns that gorgeous red. For now the seeds are pale although perfectly sweet and edible. We had them on our morning cereal. The heat and lack of rain means it won't be a
abundant harvest this year as it was in 2009.
Enjoy! Nearly every pomegranate from El Paso to Abq was killed to the ground in Feb, so none of those for a few years, when they grow back.....
ReplyDeleteStore-bought not as good, it seems.
