There is no better time. The sun is just peaking over the tree tops ready to flood the garden.
The plants are refreshed from the cool of the night.
Can it really be that this will all go away by 2pm when the temperature soars into the 90s. Yes, but it will be back again for a few hours the next day.

I love the early mornings in the garden too. So calm.
ReplyDeleteEarly morning is the best time to enjoy the garden on hot days. There's just something so refreshing and spirit-lifting watching the morning light caress the garden. Your early morning photos are simply lovely.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is rambling, rustic and most delightful.
ReplyDeleteCool morning are the best, aren't they? Especially this time of year.
ReplyDeleteAmen...too bad dawn can't last longer. I just enjoyed the same time here, but a workout and then work call...
ReplyDeleteLooks like the lupine are about to throw their seed.
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks so beautiful! I really like the rock material you chose for your mulch - what is that? Looks a little bit bigger than crushed granite and has a lot more color differentiation - pretty! I have a lot of crushed granite in the front garden, and I want to do something different in the back. Mostly because I find the crushed granite comes with you a little too much into the house and we are in the backyard more so hoping to choose something that will stay put a little more in btwn the cracks of a flagstone patio/seating area I have planned...or paths. Any thoughts? If you had it to do over, would you use this same substrate? Thank you in advance! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is pea gravel. I have crushed granite in other places but they are further from the house so don't come in on shoes.
DeleteThank you. I really like the colors of it!
DeleteIt looks beautiful. I love your dry stone walls.
ReplyDeleteThe magic of morning light! Love the contrast with the shade in the garden. And all your plants are looking so happy that it's hard to believe they've ever been touched by the hot afternoon sun.
ReplyDeleteYour garden beds look spectacular! Some of my new beds are still filling in, and I am looking forward to when they look as full and lush as yours do. Beautiful photos, beautiful garden.
ReplyDeleteThere is that cute clematis! Your garden radiates in the early light. It's so nice to have a better perspective of your garden after seeing it in person. Thanks again for a lovely morning.
