WHEN IS FISHING NOT FISHING?

When it's catching.

After all his hard work lugging rocks up the hill, it was time for some fishing R&R for my husband. An incredible day of catch and release fly fishing netted this 17" trout along with ten more between 12"and 15" Fishing was non existent this summer due to late snows and late spring run off. All the rivers we visited were running way too fast for fishing. Now they are just perfect.

This is the place to go!

Beautiful. Where is this?

This creek is a tributary of the Teton River about 20 miles east of Rexburg, Idaho. Perfectly shaped river rocks abound. In fact, the larger stones in Jenny's stream bed extension came from another beautiful Idaho river, the Big Wood River which flows through Ketchum.

Yea!!!! So glad he got some. How fun! Beautiful scenery. If you get a minute I put up a new bird I saw yesterday that I have no idea what he is- so pretty though. Maybe you will know??? I was mesmerized watching him yesterday. Glad he got some fishing time in AND caught fish!

What a great looking trout and what an equally stunning place to catch it! Wading or boating?

Wading. D is ready to take you down to the coast whenever you can spare the time.

I love it. You bring home rocks, from your travels.
I used to do that, to the dismay of Mr. P.
Another good reason to drive. It's hard to get those in a carry-on.
